storage system in an SGI IRIX host environment. To use this document, you

• The Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V storage system
• The SGI IRIX operating system and the UNIX

file system, system
commands, and utilities
• The hardware hosting the SGI IRIX system
• The hardware used to attach the Hitachi Universal Storage Platform V to
the SGI IRIX host, including fibre-channel cabling, host bus adapters
(HBAs), switches, and hubs
