Operating and loading the auxiliary battery*
Ifthecaravanisnotconnectedtothe230Vmainssupply,theauxi-
liarybatterywillsupplytheelectricalsystemwith12VDCvoltage.
Sincethebatteryonlyhasalimitedcapacity,theelectricaldevices
shouldnotbeoperatedforalongerperiodoftimewithoutcharging
thebatteryorconnectingthecaravantothe230Vmainsconnection.
The battery is chargedvia the battery chargerfromtwopossible
inputsources:
- 230Vmainsconnection
- generator in the base vehicle
thesourceofinputwiththehighestinputvoltagesuppliesthecharge
current for the connected battery.
Battery Sensor
AnIntelligentBatterySensor(IBS)hasbeenconnectedtothebattery
terminal.Itmonitorstheactualcurrentandtheactualvoltageina
highlyprecisemanner.
It is possible to precisely predeterminethe operating time of the
batterybasedontheactualconsumption.TheIBSensuresthatthe
batterywillbechangedingoodtimeandassistsinprovidingactive
energymanagementsothattheperformancerequirementsofthe
dierentelectricaldevicescanbecoordinatedwiththechargingof
the battery.
Thechargestateofthebattery,ageorremainingtimeuntildischarge
areallshownontheTFTdisplayofthecontrolpanel.Chargingis
carriedoutgentlyinaccordancewiththesteady-stateprincipleby
an"intelligent"charger.

usedtodisconnectthebatteryfromthe12Velectricalsystem.At
thesametime,thisbuttonservesasa30Aautomaticcircuitbreaker.
Ifthecaravanisnotusedforalongerperiodoftime,pleasediscon-
nectthebatteryfromtheelectricalsysteminordertopreventthe
batteryfrombeingexcessivelydischarged.

• Alwayschargetheancillarybatteryforatleast10
hoursbeforeeachjourney,directlyaftereachjour-
neyandbeforeyoutakethetrailertemporarilyout
ofservice:
-Beforeeachjourney,pleasecheckthatthebattery
ischarged(see p. 71).Ifnecessary,connectitto
themainsandpressthemainswitchtostartchar-
ging the battery.
-Thebatteryisonlychargedifithasaminimum
voltageof8V.
-Useeveryopportunityduringyourjourneytochar-
ge the battery.
-Leavethemainswitchonwheneverthetraileris
being used so that the battery is charged regularly.
