Remote Programming/Control (Downloading)
Compass Programming Advisory Notes
A copy of the program downloaded may be printed using the IBM PC-compatible computer’s internal
report generator, when an optional printer is connected (consult your PC manual for proper printer and
connections).
The approximate time for program upload or download for a complete program is shown below:
Communication Method Approximate Time
PSTN* 380 secs.
Cellular 75 secs.
IP or Wi-Fi 30 secs.
* Not applicable to the LYNX Touch L7000/L7000CN
Remote Programming Information
If using Remote Programming, the LYNX Touch must be connected to the telephone line, Cellular or to
the Internet, as applicable.
The downloading system can perform many functions when in communication with the Control. Besides uploading and
downloading, the status of the system can be observed and various commands can be initiated, as follows:
Arm the system in the away mode; disarm the system.
Bypass a zone.
Force the system to accept a new program download.
Shut down communication functions (for nonpayment of monitoring fees in an owned system).
Shut down all security system functions (for nonpayment for a leased system).
Inhibit local keypad programming (prevents account takeover).
Command the system to upload a copy of its resident program to the office.
Set the time
View/Modify
Read: arming status, AC power status, lists of faulted zones, bypassed zones, zones currently in alarm, zones currently in
trouble, and RF sensors with low battery conditions; read control’s time.
