Both LPU slots and LPUs are purple edged for
easy identification.
The LPUs are interface cards that provide
network services, including receiving and
forwarding traffic.
You must order LPUs as needed and install
at least one LPU.

supply slots

You must order power supplies as needed
and install at least one power supply. You
can also install two power supplies for
redundancy.
(4) Fan
assembly slot
Location of the fan tray slot:
• 7506-V—Top front of the chassis
• Other 7500 switches—Right front of the
chassis
Every 7500 switch comes with one fan
assembly. You do not need to order fan
assemblies.
