Remove the access panel ("Access panel" on page 37).
5. Remove the air baffle (on page 31).
6. Disconnect the fan cable from the system board and remove the fan.
CAUTION:
The fan does not have a fan guard. Special attention is needed when removing or
installing the fan to prevent finger injury.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.

• Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors are optimized for:
o Single-rank and dual-rank PC4-2133 (DDR4-2133) RDIMMs operating at up to 2133 MT/s
o Dual-rank and quad-rank PC4-2133 (DDR4-2133) LRDIMMs operating at up to 2133 MT/s
• Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 processors are optimized for:
o Single-rank and dual-rank PC4-2400T (DDR4-2400) RDIMMs operating at up to 2400 MT/s
o Dual-rank PC4-2400T (DDR4-2400) LRDIMMs operating at up to 2400 MT/s

Removing a DIMM
To remove the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 27).
2. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
3. Do one of the following:
o Extend the server from the rack (on page 27).
