Changing the steering connecting
rod and steering rod elbows
Dismantling
1. Unscrew the nuts (28) half a turn.
2. Remove the steering rod elbow (8) from the
steering gear sector.
3. Remove the steering connecting rod (7) from the
steering rod elbows.
Mounting
1. Screw the nuts (28) onto the steering connecting
rod (7).
2. Fit the steering connecting rod (7) in the steering
rod elbow (6).
3. Fit the other steering rod elbow (8) on the
steering connecting rod so that the distance
between the elbows is 257 mm.
4. Make certain that the fastening screw of the
non-fitted steering rod elbow is at right angles to
the steering connecting rod.
5. Fit the steering rod elbow (6) on the steering
gear sector.
Adjustment
1. Screw the steering connecting rod on so that the
length of thread X from the steering rod elbows
is equal on both sides.
2. Secure the steering connecting rod with the
nuts (28).
