This section includes a site planning checklist and maintenance records to use when installing the IBM
SAN48C-6 Switch.

Site Preparation Checklist
Planning the location and layout of your equipment rack or wiring closet is essential for successful switch
operation, ventilation, and accessibility. The following table lists the site planning tasks we recommend
that you complete before installing the IBM SAN48C-6 Switch.
Consider heat dissipation when sizing the air-conditioning requirements for an installation.
