Completing the installation
To complete the installation, complete the following steps:
1. If you removed any air baffles or the memory tray, reinstall them (see
“Replacing the DIMM air baffle,” “Replacing the memory tray” on page 113,
and “Replacing the microprocessor air baffle” on page 113).
2. Replace the fan cage assembly, if removed (see “Replacing the fan cage
assembly” on page 114).
3. Reconnect the cables and power cords (see “Connecting the cables” on page
116).
4. Update the server configuration (see “Updating the server configuration” on
page 117).
5. If you removed the server cover, replace it (see “Replacing the server top
cover” on page 115).
6. Start the server. Confirm that is starts correctly and recognizes the newly
installed devices, and make sure that no error LEDs are lit.
7. Complete the additional steps in “Instructions for IBM Business Partners” on
page 34.
8. Install the server in the rack cabinet (see the Rack Installation Instructions that
come with the server for instructions).
Replacing the DIMM air baffle
To install the DIMM air baffle, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page “Safety” on page v and
“Installation guidelines” on page 44.
2. Align the tabs on the sides of the DIMM air baffle with the slots on the power
supply cage and the chassis wall and lower the DIMM air baffle into the server.
