6. Connection and start-up
Voltage supply and programming
The voltage supply for the evaluation
units is connected to plug C1 (see the
figure on page 18), V+ and GND.
Insulation from the mains must be
ensured in accordance with the respective
standards. A safe separation is not
required.
If a power supply with safe separation is
used, this power supply may
simultaneously supply other equipment
which requires no supply with safe
separation.
Equipment which requires a supply with safe separation must not be
supplied simultaneously with the evaluation unit.
Depending on the number of the connected fail-safe switches programming is
required.
For the GI5002 and GM503S type
switches which invert the clock input
signal from the evaluation unit
programming of the evaluation unit
depends on the number of the connected
fail-safe switches: If the number of the
GI5002 or GM503S type fail-safe
switches is odd, the jumper between pins
P1/P2 must be present.
