Hard Start Hot
x Flooding condition
x Loose electrical ground at engine
x Plugged flame arrestor
x Fouled spark plugs
x Loose coil or ignition wires
x Battery cables loose or corroded
x Weak or discharged battery
Engine Won’t Crank
x Weak or discharged battery; loose or corroded battery cables
x Defective neutral safety switch or adjustment needed
x Defective starter motor
x Ignition switch problems
x Hydrostatic lockup – remove spark plugs to look for water or
gasoline in cylinders
x Seized engine – turn crank pulley with socket and ratchet
