Chapter 3. Introduction
3.1 Introduction to OW50M-Rac
The OW50M-Rac is a dual parabolic terminal with a 53 cm reflector size based on a 9.3 dB/K G/T which
can be operated in the OneWeb low earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation.
A radio link to the satellites is established using the User Terminal (UT) operating in the Ku-band, with uplink
frequencies between 14.0 and 14.5 GHz, and downlink between 10.7 and 12.7 GHz. The OW50M enables
global coverage, including both poles and ensures steady performance in extremely low temperature with
the purpose built heating device (supplied as an optional extra).
3.2 OW50M-Rac Features
• LEO satellite pointing and tracking algorithm.
• 3-axis stabilization platform with ship motion compensation solutions.
• Dual-dome operation for seamless connectivity.
• Designed specifically for maritime operation
• Satellite blockage mitigation
• Embedded Radar Rejection Filter for interference prevention
• Single cable connection between Below Deck Unit and each Above Deck (Antenna) Unit
• Remote monitoring, diagnostics and troubleshooting to resolve issues on site, via the local management
interface
• Ability to store multiple software versions to fallback to a known good or factory version in case of errors
in the current working version of software
• Factory pre-assembled heating module (optional)
