Mode AccessPoint:

‘Master’mode.

AlsoreferredtoasAPClient,orstationmode.NormallytheIntellinetdevice

WDSstandsforwirelessdistributionsystem.Awirelessdistributionsystem
(WDS)isasystemenablingthewirelessinterconnectionofaccesspointsinan
IEEE802.11network.Itallowsawirelessnetworktobeexpandedusing
multipleaccesspointswithoutthetraditionalrequirementforawired
backbonetolinkthem.ThenotableadvantageofWDSoverothersolutionsis
thatitpreservestheMACaddressesofclientframesacrosslinksbetween
accesspoints.Onedisadvantageisthatthemaximumwirelesseffective
throughputmaybehalvedafterthefirstretransmission(hop)beingmade.For
example,inthecaseoftwoAPsconnectedviaWDS,andcommunicationis
madebetweenacomputerwhichispluggedintotheEthernetportofAPA
