Chapter 3 — EasyLAN Network Setup
• Press the <i> key on the printer’s keyboard to check that the printer
uses either auto or an RS-232 serial channel as I/O channel.
• Check that the communication is working.
Also refer to the printer User's Guide and the Fingerprint or IPL Program-
mmer’s Reference Manual.
Installing EasyLAN Network Setup
1 Insert the PrinterCompanion CD into the CD ROM reader of your
PC. e CD should autostart and launch the home page. Locate and
click the name of your EasyCoder printer in the left-hand main menu.
e page for your printer appears.
2 Choose Networking from the left-hand menu. e Networking page
appears.
3 Click the Network Software Tools link. e Network Software Tools
page appears.
4 Click EasyLAN Network Setup link. e File Download dialog box
appears.
5 Click Open.
6 Follow the prompts to accept the license agreement, choose a destina-
tion folder for EasyLAN Network Setup, and install the program.
7 When the installation is complete, click Finish.
Starting EasyLAN Network Setup
Before you begin, connect the EasyCoder printer to the serial port on
your desktop PC.
To start EasyLAN Network Setup
In the Start menu on your desktop PC, choose Programs > Intermec
> Intermec EasyLAN Network Setup > Intermec EasyLAN Network
Setup. e Introduction screen appears.
