13.3 Draining and Refilling
About every 3 months, you will want to replace the swim spa’s
water. The frequency depends on a number of variables
including the amount of use, number of users, aenon paid to water quality maintenance
etc. During this me, it is also recommended that you clean the internal plumbing lines from
buildup and debris.
CAUTION! READ THIS BEFORE DRAINING: To prevent damage to the swim spa components,
turn off power to the swim spa at the circuit breaker before draining it. Do not turn the
power back on unl your swim spa has been refilled.
CAUTION: There are certain precauons to keep in mind when draining your swim spa. If it is
extremely cold, and the swim spa in outdoors, freezing could occur in the lines or the
equipment (see WINTERIZING). On the other hand, if it is hot outdoors, do not leave the
swim spa’s surface exposed to direct sunlight.
DRAINING YOUR SWIM SPA
REFER TO FIGURE 1 & FIGURE 2
1. Locate nearest drain facility (Check your local bylaws).
2. Aach backwash hose to hose bib located on plumbing line beside the swim spa control system.
3. Run backwash hose to drain locaon.
4. Open ball valve.
5. Close filtraon pump return gate valve next to the ball valve (this directs the water out the backwash
hose).
6. Acvate the circ pump.
7. Monitor the swim spa while it drains.
8. Use a second garden hose to wash down interior surface as the swim spa connues to drain. A sponge
may also be used to wipe down the interior surface.
13.2 Waterfall Control Filter
This filter must be cleaned at each drain and refill of your swim spa to ensure proper
funconality of the waterfall. It is located behind the door in the equipment area. To access
the filter screen turn large canister secon of the assembly counter-clockwise ll the
apparatus separates revealing screen filter. Run filter under tap to clean out any debris and
reassemble in reverse order.
