If the project is switched or the security plug-in is
opened, the security plug-in requests the administrator
password for the respective project:
NOTE
The password of a project is valid until the collector
security window of the project is closed or the GridVis
software is terminated.
An additional RSA key pair is generated for the encryp-
tion of data between the GridVis
®
Collector and the
GridVis software (PC/computer). The GridVis software
(PC/computer) is given a private RSA key, the GridVis
®
Collector a public RSA key.
The encryption of small amounts of data is done direct-
ly via the public RSA key.
Records and sequences are too large for the asymme-
trical RSA key. For this purpose, a symmetrical RSA
key is created on the GridVis
®
Collector and transmitted
encrypted using the public RSA key. The symmetrical
RSA key protects the data in this case.
Uninstalling the security plug-in does not remove the
encryption.
NOTE
After the initial configuration, generate a new RSA key
using the "Export RSA key sets" button in the collector
security window of the GridVis software. After the RSA
key set has been exported and imported on the GridVis
®
Collector, restart the GridVis software and the GridVis
service!
