Controls and Communication
Multiple Application Platform (MAP) allows concurrent operation of both the local and remote
interface modules. The remote interface module places the local interface module in a read-only
state, whereby local operations are restricted to navigation of the various system elements.
Modifications to shared data items cannot be made. On power-up, MAP defaults to local
operation.
MAP EDFA Commands Overview
This section contains the definitions and syntax for the cassette level commands for remote
operations as well as the operating instructions for local operation with the MAP Local Interface
Module. The system level commands and instructions can be found in the MAP (Multiple
Application Platform) User’s Manual (JDS Uniphase part number 10108925).
MAP command syntax follows general SCPI rules. The MAP command set is separated into the
following subsystems:
INITiate Define the measurement acquisition parameters.
FETCh Return results of immediate readings.
READ Initiate measurements and return results.
SENSe Define acquisition / setup parameters.
SYSTem Operate on a system level. Not device-specific.
