How to Query the State of ALS
COMMAND
:INPut:ALS:ENABle?
DESCRIPTION Query the current state of the Automatic Laser Shutdown (ALS)
monitor.
INPUT FORMAT :INPut:ALS:ENABle? <C>,<S>,<D>
INPUT RANGE
OUTPUT FORMAT <State>
OUTPUT RANGE Boolean
0 – OFF
1 - ON
DEFAULT 1
EXAMPLE The following example queries the LOS state of the module on chassis
2, slot 8, device 1.
Terminal Input: : INP:ALS:ENAB? 2,8,1
Terminal Response: 1
The above response indicates the LOS is enabled for the selected
device.
ERRORS
Error Number Error Description
-500
Invalid address or no card inserted.
LOCAL INTERFACE
• Highlight “OA”
• Press ‘Enter’ ( Q )
• ALS monitor will be displayed as “Enabled” or
“Disabled”
• Press ‘Exit’ ()”
