Function Description
Input Power: Provides the input signal to the amplifier from optical signal
source in dBm or mW
Output Power: Provides the amplified output signal from the EDFA in dBm or W
Mode:
“Const Current” constant current allows user to adjust current
of amplifier. This mode can not be changed
Laser Status:
Allows user to toggle status “Enabled” or “Disabled”
Laser Current: Displays the percentage of pump power being used by the
EDFA. By highlighting and function and pressing Enter ( Q),
the current can be adjusted with ef. By holding key down
values will decrease/increase at a higher rate. Resolution is
0.1% and can be adjusted from 0.0 – 100.0%
ALS Monitor: Automatic Laser Shutdown (ALS) causes EDFA to shut down if
input signal drops below LOS limit. This function allows user to
toggle status “Disabled” or “Enabled”
LOS Limit: Displays the Loss Of Signal (LOS) limit. This allows user to set
the limit that will activate the LOS alarm and shut down the
EDFA if ALS Monitor is enabled. Displayed in dBm or mW.
BACREF Monitor: N/A
BACREF Limit: N/A
Status Register Pressing Enter ( Q) will forward user to Status Register display
Fault Register Pressing Enter ( Q) will forward user to Fault Register display
