Function Description
Reset
Resets EDFA to factory settings
Self Test
Performs self test on cassette, the EDFA will return with a “Pass
or “Fail” in the “Ready” box
Refresh
Refreshes all parameters on the cassette
Ready
Status box for “Self Test”, will reply with “Pass” or “Fail”
MAP System ID
Identification of MAP System.
Chassis / Slot #
Displays chassis and slot # of cassette
Input 1 Power
Displays Input power of selected MAP EDFA
Output 1 Power
Displays Output power of selected MAP EDFA
Device Enable
Allows user to Enable device
Signal Status
LED will remain green while signal is above user set LOS
threshold. LED will appear yellow if signal drops below LOS
threshold.
ALS Status
LED will remain green while ALS is not active. LED will turn
yellow if ALS is enabled, and input level has dropped below the
user-defined threshold causing ALS to be activated.
Current (%)
Allows user to toggle through percentage of pump current being
used by the cassette using bc, or by typing desired percentage
of pump current from (0.00% to 100.00%)

String
Displays settings and status of cassette, for the following fields:
Number Device, Card Name, Working Bandwidth, Min Gain,
Max Gain, Min Laser Current (mA), Max Laser Current (mA),
Min Laser Power (mW), Max Laser Power (mW), Min Input
Power (dBm), Max Input Power (dBm), Min Output Power
(dBm), Max Output Power (dBm), Min LOS Limit (dBm), Max
LOS Limit (dBm), Min BackReflect. Limit (dBm), Max
BackReflect. Limit (dBm), Back Reflect. Det. Present ?, Input
Detector Present ?, Output Detector Present ?, AGC Present ?
