10 Hardware Installation—IFC-200 Hardware Installation Procedures
Note: The RS-232 printer interface may also be used with EDP-listed
equipment, such as personal computers, to monitor the IFC-200 for
supplementary purposes.
Since the IFC-200 is not the receiving unit in a proprietary system, its use
is optional from a standards compliance standpoint. Remote printers
require 120 VAC, 50/60 Hz primary power. A secondary power source
(battery backup) is not provided; the use of a separate Uninterruptible
Power Supply (UPS), UL Listed for Fire Protection Signaling is
recommended.
The IFC-200 and PRN-3 connect via an RS-232 interface. A custom cable
must be assembled for connection to the printer’s RS-232 port.
Refer to the documentation supplied with the PRN-3 for instructions on
the printer’s menu controls. Set the printer’s options as listed in Table 1.
