Terminate with an R-47K ELR (N-ELR in Canada).
The following notes concern M500MJ and M501MJ Monitor Modules:
● Initiating device circuit is supervised and current-limited to
210 microamps at 24 VDC (nominal).
● Initiating device circuit provides the following services (do not mix):
a) fire alarm service
b) automatic/manual waterflow alarm service with normally open
contact devices
c) sprinkler supervision with normally open contact devices
d) security service
● Maximum loop resistance due to wiring is 20 ohms.
The M502MJ Addressable Monitor Module can directly power 24 VDC
two-wire UL Listed conventional smoke detectors. Refer to the Fire
Management Sales Resource Manual (FAN 447) for a listing of
compatible detectors. The module includes a magnetic test switch for
testing the module’s electronics and connections to the control panel. The
M502MJ circuit can be wired as an NFPA Style B or NFPA Style D (IDC)
Initiating Device Circuit.
The M502MJ occupies one module address on the SLC.
1. Connect the SLC to M502MJ terminals 1 (-) and 2 (+), 28 VDC max.
2. Use the rotary switches on the M502MJ to set the module to the
required SLC address.
Do not mix fire alarm initiating, supervisory, or security devices on the
same module IDC. A 3.9K ohm End-of-Line Resistor (ELR) is included.
See Figure 20.
1. Connect the Style B IDC to M502MJ terminals 6 (-) and 7 (+).
2. Do not loop wire under terminals. Break wire run to provide
supervision of connections.
3. Power to the M502MJ, terminal 3 (-) and 4 (+), must be externally
switched to reset the detectors. An M510CJ control module can be
used to switch power from a standard UL Listed power supply if the
IFC-200 power supply, available on TB1-5 and TB1-6, is not used.
