Style 4
Complete the following steps to determine branch resistance on a Style 4
SLC.
1. Short the termination point of one branch at a time and measure DC
resistance from the beginning of the SLC to the end of that particular
branch as shown in Figure 8. The total DC resistance from panel to
branch end cannot exceed 40 ohms.
2. Repeat this procedure for all remaining branches.
Add the lengths of all the branches on the SLC. This sum cannot exceed
10,000 feet (12 AWG).
