2.12 The check of NAV after power on (If NAV is available)
NAV is checked in the following procedure, after power on
1) Open the detail window of sensor CH connected to the NAV in Sensor
section on the SYSTEM screen of Maintenance software.
2) Set the parameter (ratio, direction) for receiving signal.
3) Enter the initial value for rudder angle.
4) Check that sentence data is displayed on window of real time monitor.
Check that the value of each item of the following sentences and the value
currently outputted from the sensor are in agreement.

Rudder angle, wind direction, wind speed
5) Enter the all information of NAV connected to the VDR.
6) Check that all diagnosis lamp of Sensor section on the SYSTEM screen of
Maintenance software are displayed as GREEN.
Only when NAV is contained in
composition
Rudder angle + means PORT side,
Rudder angle – means STBD side.
The units of rudder angle and
wind direction are degree.
The unit of wind speed is m/s.
2.13 The check of NSK (Heading) after power on (If NSK is available)
NSK are checked in the following procedure, after power on RCU
1) Confirm a Heading alarm which indicates an initial value of Heading not
entered.
2) Open the detail window of sensor CH 33 in Sensor section on the
SYSTEM screen of Maintenance software.
3) Set the parameter (ratio, direction) for receiving signal.
4) Enter the initial value for heading.
5) Check that sentence data is displayed on window of real time monitor.
Check that the value of heading in the recording sentences and the value
currently outputted from the Gyro are in agreement.
6) Enter the all information of Gyro connected to the NSK in RCU.
7) Check that all diagnosis lamp of Sensor section on the SYSTEM screen of
Maintenance software are displayed as GREEN.
Only when NSK is connected to
Gyro.
