Procedure for cutting the strongly adhesive cover tape
If you use a cover tape whose adhesiveness is strong, a joint tape is peeled off from
the cover tape, and it may jam the peeled-off cover tape. In such a case, follow the
procedure below to splice the joint tape.
Step 1. Cut the used carrier tape and a new carrier tape straight as you do
conventionally.
Step 2. As shown in the figure below, make two cuts in the new carrier tape and
cover tape together.
Cut straight.
Notch the feeding-hole side.
Make a cut in a new tape.
Notes:
Make a cut in the tape at the angle as deep as possible.
Be sure to remove the adhesive portion of the cover tape in which you
make a cut.
When you cut off the cavity together if the cavity section is large, take
care so that the cavity section cannot be crashed or deformed.
Step 3. Splice the joint tape.
Note: Splice the cavity section of the carrier tape so that any feeding holes cannot
be covered entirely on the feeding-hole side of the carrier tape either.
