S.E.A. RECORDING
1. Connect a tape deck to the TAPE-1 or TAPE-2 REC ter-
minals.
SEA SEAREC LOUDNESS 2. Set the S.E.A. controls as you prefer.
ON ON ON 3. Set the SEA REC switch to ON (=).
4. Proceed the same way as in normal recording.
Notes:
@ S.E.A. recording is possible with the tape decks connected
to both TAPE-1 and TAPE-2 REC terminals.
@ When the SEA REC switch is pressed in (=), the TAPE
MONITOR switch has no effect. Whether it is set to its “in’’
or “out” position, the source sound is being heard, either
with the added effect of S.E.A. or not.
@ S.E.A. recording is impossible while dubbing.
@ Moving the VOLUME control during S.E.A. recording has
no effect on the recording level.

The S.E.A. Graphic Equalizer is JVC’s exclusive tone control
system. By allowing you to boost or lower the response of
finely divided sections of the frequency spectrum independent-
REC OUT PLAY BACK ly, the S.E.A. gives you much greater control over the sound
quality of your stereo system. With an optionally available
S.E.A. Graphic Equalizer, you can tailor the sound to accom-
modate the characteristics of different types of music or to
compensate for the particular acoustic characteristics of your
audio components and listening room,
The TAPE-1 terminals of the A-X3 can be used for connecting
(LKR) the S.E.A. Graphic Equalizer.

CONNECTION
1. Connect the TAPE-1 REC terminals to the SEA INPUT ter-
minals,
2. Connect the TAPE-1 PLAY terminals to the SEA OUTPUT
terminals.
3. Connect a tape deck to the TAPE terminals of the S.E.A.
Graphic Equalizer.
@ Set the TAPE switch to “1” (ML).
@ Press in the TAPE MONITOR switch (= }.
