3.2KeycardLevels
Eachlockcanbeprogrammedtousemultiplekeycards,witheachkeycardoperatingindependentlyfromthe
others.Thelockcodeforatypeofkeycardwillchangeonlywhenanewkeycardforthatsametypeiscreatedand
insertedintothelock,regardlessofwhatchangesweremadetootherkeycards.
Room/Unit
Individualkeystoeachroomthatareissueduponarrival.
Suite
Typicallyusedforroomswithconnectingdoors.ASuitekeycardwillopentwoormorerooms.
Failsafe
Individualkeysforeachroom.Thesekeysaremadeinadvanceandmaintainedincompletesetstobeissuedinthe
eventofasystemorpowerfailurewhennootherkeyscanbemade.Thesekeycardsarebackupkeycardforguest
rooms.Theyareusuallymadeinadvanceandstoredinasafeplace.Theycanthenbeissuedtoguestsintheevent
ofapowerorsystemfailurethattemporarilypreventsthemakingofnewkeycards.
LimitedUse
Thesekeycardsaccessonlyonelockandwillopenthatlockonlyonetosixtimes(asspecifiedinthedesign
configurationbytheproperty).
Section
Opensseveralroomsinaspecifiedarea.
Floor
Opensalloftheroomsonafloor.
Inhibit
OpensallofthelocksandinhibitsthekeycardcurrentlyworkingtheRoom/Unit,Suite,andFail‐safelevelkeycards
assignedtothelock.Theywillbeusedafteraroomisvacated.Theinhibitkeycardwillnotopenthedoorandwill
inhibitthekeysevenifthedeadboltoftheprivacyswitchisset.
Master
Thesekeycardsareusedtodividethehotelintomasterareastosatisfytheneedsofthevariousdepartments.
KeycardsusedbyhousekeepingincludeBuildingMasterkeycards,Inhibitkeycards,andGrandMasterkeycards.
GrandMaster
Typicallyoperatesallroomsontheproperty.
Security/Emergency
Opensallroomsonthepropertyandwilloverridethedeadboltorprivacyswitch.
ElectronicLockout
Thesekeycardswilldoublelockalockfromtheoutside,preventingallkeycards,excepttheEmergencykeycard
fromenteringtheroom.
