3.3KeycardSequence
Eachtypeofkeycardcanbeassignedasequencerangethatindicatesthenumberoftimesanewkeycardcanbe
made,butnotusedinthelock,beforethelockwillbeunabletorecognizethenextlockcodeandpermitentryinto
theroom.Thissequencerangecanbesetfrom115skips.
Whenanewkeycardismadeitisencodedwiththefollowinginformation:
1. KeyRecordNumberAnumberthatindicateshowthecomputerhasfiledtheroomnumber.
2. KeyCombinationArandomcodenumbergeneratedbythecomputerwhenthekeyismade.
3. IdentificationNumber(ID#)Anumberfrom1255thatisassignedbythecomputertodifferentiateone
masterkeycardfromanother.
4. NewKeyDate/HourThedateandtimethatthekeycardwillbeginworkingonthelock.
5. ExpirationDate/HourThedateandtimethatthekeycardwillceasetoworkinthelock.
6. SequenceNumberThenextsequencenumberassignedbythecomputer.
7. PropertyNumberThenumberassignedtotheproperty.
Whenakeycardisinsertedintothelockandremoved:
1. ThelockfirstconfirmsthattheKeyRecordNumberandPropertyNumberstoredinitsmemorymatchesand
numbersonthecard.
2. ItthencheckstoensurethattheNewKeyDate/Timeonthekeycardisequalto,orlaterthatthekeydateand
timestoredinitsmemory.
3. Finally,itcheckstheSequenceNumberonthecardtoensurethatitisequaltoorgreaterthanthesequence
numberinitsmemory,butdoesnotexceedtheprogrammedSequenceRange.
Whenthesethreechecksareconfirmed,thelockupdatestheinformationstoredinitsmemory.Itthenperforms
thenormalchecksandreleasesthelockingmechanism.
