RECONFIGURING
THE
KEYPAD
If you have
little
use
for
entering
numerical
data
with
the
numeric
keypad, you
may want to reconfigure the keypad. This
will enable you
to
activate
with
one key-
stroke
functions
which
usually take up
to
four
keystrokes. Here is the procedure:
1. Make a diagram
of
the keypad
with
the
changes
you
want
to
make.
This
will
help you in the
reconfiguration
, and,
after
the
reconfiguration,
will
serve
to
remind you
of
the new
functions
you have given
the
keys.
2. At the
A0
>
prompt
, type: CON FIG
Press
RETURN.
3.
From the menu,
select
Redefine the
number
pad by
typing:
N
4.
Follow
the
instructions
on the screen.
RECONFIGURING
THE
ARROW KEYS

The procedure
for
reconfiguring
the arrow keys is the same,
except
in
step
3
select
Redefine the
vector
pad by typing: V .
RECONFIGURING
THE
KEYPAD FOR WORDSTAR
You
may
reconfigure
the
keypad
to
enable you
to
activate
WordStar
commands
with
a
single
keystroke.
The procedure is
the
same,
except
in
step
2,
at
the
A1> prompt, type:
WSKPCONF
When you want
to
use WordStar
with
the reconfigured keypad, at the A1> prompt,
instead
of
WS, type: WSKP .
When you
exit
WordStar
with
the reconfigured keypad, the
command,
KP-RESET
will
appear
briefly
on
your
screen. This is an
automatic
function
that
returns
the
computer
to
the
default
keypad.
