1.0 INTRODUCTION
The
MUFBARTM
(MUlti-Floppy Backup And Restore) system is a set
of
disk
utilities
which
enables
you
to
make
backup
copies
of
files
which
are on Win-
chester
hard
disks.
Three programs are
included
in the system.
• MUFBACK is a
backup
program
for
a hard disk. It
will
split
a file
of
up
to
8
megabytes
into
smaller
files
so
they
will
easily
fit
on a
number
of
flexible
disks.
• MUFLOOK is a lookup
utility
which
allows
the user to
look
at the in-
formation
in
the
header records
which
have been created by MUF-
BACK
for
each subfile. These header records
uniquely
identify
the
file
and provide
information
about
its
origin.
• MUFREST is a restore program
which
may
be
used to merge the
files
from several
flexible
disks
into
the
original
large
file
on the hard
disk.
The programs require 36k
of
free memory.
These programs are
written
in 8080
machine
language.
