FIN DBAD
FINDBAD.COM is a utility program that checks a disk
for bad sectors. It is normally used after a hard
or floppy disk has been formatted or when you are
getting BAD SECTOR errors on a fLoppy diskette.
Any bad sectors are gathered into a file called
[UNUSEDJ.BAD, so that CP/M wilL not try to use these
bad sectors for any of your files. This program
locks out data in any bLocks it finds to be bad.
All remaining fi les can be copied onto a new disk.
The old disk shouLd then be discarded. Your fi Les
are too valuable to be trusted to any disk that is
developing bad sectors.
To run FINDBAD on a diskette:
1. From user 0, log onto drive C by typing:
Press RETURN.
On the screen you should see: CO>
2. Type: A:FINDBAD
Press RETURN.
You will see:
