To source current, the following sequence must be followed.
a Set voltage & current range (without any particular priority in sequence).
b Set VOLTAGE limit using [:SOURce]:VOLTage:LIMit <voltage>,
(@1|2|3), where <voltage> is the value in volts.
c Drive CURRENT using [:SOURce]:CURRent[:LEVel][:IMMediate]
[:AMPLitude] <current>, (@1|2|3), where <current> is the value in
amperes.
Example 2, Set drive current at channel 1
→ *CLS; *RST Resets the source to the default
power-on state. This command can be
ignored if this operation is not required.
→ SOUR:VOLT:RANG R20V, (@1) Sets voltage range of channel 1 to 20 V.
→ SOUR:CURR:RANG R10mA, (@1) Sets current range of channel 1 to 10 mA.
→ SOUR:VOLT:LIM 10V, (@1) Sets voltage limit of channel 1 to 10 V.
→ SOUR:CURR 5mA, (@1) Sets channel 1 to output 5 mA.
→ OUTP ON, (@1) Turns on output for channel 1.
→ MEAS:CURR? (@1) Queries the current for channel 1.
