Remote sense and guard
Remote sense
The U2722A/U2723A has both local and remote sensing capabilities. When
remote sensing is applied, the sense lines can be directly connected to the DUT.
When the U2722A/U2723A is in source voltage mode, remote sensing enables
the voltage to be sensed at the load and it will result in better regulation. If the
remotely sensed voltage at the DUT is lower than the programmed voltage level,
the actual output voltage will be increased until the sensed voltage matches the
programmed voltage. This ensures that the exact programmed voltage appears at
the DUT.
Remote sensing is especially useful in source voltage mode with load impedances
that vary or have significant lead resistance. It has no effect in source current
mode.
