3. Check that the bonnet has engaged
properly.
僅 If the bonnet can be raise slightly, it
is not properly engaged.
僅 Open it again and close it with a lit

tle more force.
僅 Before closing the bonnet, ensure that
all obstructions are removed from the
bonnet opening. Closing the bonnet
with an obstruction present in the
bonnet opening may result in prop
-
erty damage or severe personal
injury.
僅 Do not leave gloves, rags or any other
combustible material in the engine
compartment. Doing so may cause a
heat-induced fire.
僅 Always double check to be sure that
the bonnet is firmly latched before
driving away. If it is not latched, the
bonnet could open whilst the vehicle
is being driven, causing total loss of
visibility, which might result in an acci
-
dent.
僅 Do not move the vehicle with the bon
-
net raised. The view will be blocked
and the bonnet could fall or be dam
-
aged.
Fuel filler door
The vehicle's fuel filler door must be
opened and closed by hand from out
-
side the vehicle.
Opening the fuel filler door
The fuel filler door must be opened from
inside the vehicle by pulling up on the
fuel filler door opener located on the
front floor area on the driver's seat.
If the fuel filler door does not open
because ice has formed around it, tap
lightly or push on the door to break the
ice and release the door. Do not pry on
the door. If necessary, spray around the
door with an approved de-icer fluid (do
not use radiator anti-freeze) or move the
vehicle to a warm place and allow the ice
to melt.
Before refuelling, be sure to check what
type of fuel is used for your vehicle.
If you put diesel fuel into a petrol-pow
-
ered vehicle or petrol into a diesel-pow
-
ered vehicle, it may affect the fuel
system and cause serious damage to the
vehicle.
1. Stop the engine.
2. To open the fuel filler door, pull up the
fuel filler door opener.
3. Pull open the fuel filler door (1).
