3 Operating preparations
• Basic rule for service, maintenance, repair and assembly work on the rotary swather -
switch off the PTO shaft. Switch off the engine and remove the ignition key. Secure the
tractor and rotary swather from rolling away!
• The maximum drive speed is 540 rpm.
• Actuating components such as ropes and cords; and hydraulic hoses and cable
connections should be laid in such a way that they cannot be activated unintentionally or
come into contact with the tractor wheels! Danger of accidents!
• No-one should be standing between the tractor and the rotary swather during raising or
lowering operations. Great risk of injury!
• Before switching on the PTO shaft, ensure that no-one is standing in the danger area of the
rotary swather. Danger of accidents!
• Make sure that the protective devices are correctly fitted during operation and when
travelling on public roads! Attach the lights and check that they are functioning correctly.
• The operator must not leave the tractor during operation!
3.2 Attaching the rotary swather to
the tractor
A swinging drawbar or a hitch bar is required on the
tractor side to attach the rotary swather onto the tractor.
• Fit the rotary rake to the hitch bar (1) and secure
using bolt (2).
• When fitting the rotary swather, make
sure that nobody enters the area
between the implement and the tractor.
3.1 Special safety instructions
• Swing the support base (3) forward
Turn in the support base (3) until it no
longer comes in contact with the tines in
its transport position or turn setting.
The safety chain (4) must be attached to the drawbar (5)
according to picture SW46T028 and, after coupling the
machine, it must be connected to the tractor.
The attachment of safety chain is not
compulsory in all countries.
