3 Operating preparations
3.1 Special safety instructions
• Basic rule for service, maintenance, repair and assembly work on the rotary swather -
switch off the PTO shaft. Switch off the engine and remove the ignition key. Secure the
tractor and rotary swather from rolling away!
• The maximum drive speed is 540 rpm.
• Actuating components such as ropes and cords; and hydraulic hoses and cable
connections should be laid in such a way that they cannot be activated unintentionally or
come into contact with the tractor wheels! Danger of accidents!
• No-one should be standing between the tractor and the rotary swather during raising or
lowering operations. Great risk of injury!
• Before switching on the PTO shaft, ensure that no-one is standing in the danger area of the
rotary swather. Danger of accidents!
• Make sure that the protective devices are correctly fitted during operation and when
travelling on public roads! Attach the lights and check that they are functioning correctly.
• The operator must not leave the tractor during operation!
Before connecting or disconnecting implements to and
from the three-point linkage, position the controls in such
a way that any unintentional raising or lowering of the
implement is impossible!
Particular care is to be taken when connecting or
disconnecting implements to and from the tractor!
There is a risk of shearing and pinching in the area
around the three-point linkage!
• Attach and secure the lower link arms.
• Attach the top link and secure with pins.
• Raise the jack stand and secure it in the uppermost
position with pin. Do not remove the jack stand.
• No-one should be standing between
the tractor and the machine during
attachment.
• Implements that are attached on the
front and rear must not result in the
maximum weight, maximum axle loads
or tyre carrying capacities of the tractor
being exceeded. The front axle of the
tractor must always be loaded with at
least 20% of the empty weight of the
tractor, even when the rear attachment
is fitted.
Make certain you have complied with
these requirements before starting to
move the tractor
