Winter storage
8 Winter storage
• Clean the rotary swather thoroughly before storing
over the winter. If a high-pressure cleaner is used, do
not direct the water jet at the bearings. Grease all
lubricating nipples after cleaning.
• Check all moving parts for freedom of movement. If
necessary, disassemble, clean and grease before
reassembling. Replace with new parts if necessary.
Only use original KRONE spare parts.
• Oil all hinge points.
• Lubricate the machine thoroughly.
• Grease the PTO shaft guard tubes to keep them from
freezing.
• Store the rotary swather in a dry place, but not near
artificial fertiliser.
• Touch up damaged paintwork and treat bare metal
thoroughly with rust protection agent.
• Grease the connection of the attachment tubes to the
swath disc and to the tine bars.
• Jack the machine up to relieve the load on the tyres.
Do not deflate the tyres. Protect tyres from sun,
grease and oils.
•. Make a list of all spare parts needed and order them
in good time. It is easier for your KRONE dealer to
order and install spare parts during the off-season. In
addition, your machine will be completely ready for
operation at the start of the next season.
