Set Up
Position Tractor
1. Fasten and adjust seat belt.
2. Start tractor. See page 84 for start-up procedures.
3. Drive to starting point. Move in line with planned job. See page 85 for driving procedures.
4. Ensure ground drive direction control is in neutral.
5. Move attachment speed/direction control to neutral position.
6. Move ground drive control to neutral position.
7. Set ground drive motor speed to low.
8. Lower rear attachment to 6” (150 mm) above ground.
9. Lower backfill blade, if equipped.
10. Turn ignition switch to STOP.
11. Move to backhoe operator’s station.
EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN - Turn ignition switch to STOP.
Crushing weight could cause death or serious injury. Stay
away.
To help avoid injury: Use attachments or counterweights to make front and rear loads balance when all
attachments are raised. Contact your Ditch Witch
®
dealer about counterweighting for your equipment.
