Attention:Whiletransferringdatatoorfromamediacard,suchasanSDcard,donotputyourcomputerinto
sleeporhibernationmodebeforethedatatransferiscompleted.Otherwise,yourdatacouldgetdamaged.
Installingamediacard
Toinstallamediacard,dothefollowing:
1.Locatetheappropriatetypeofslotforyourcard.See“Computercontrols,connectors,andindicators”
onpage1.
2.Ensurethatthemetalcontactsarefacingdownandtowardthecardslot.
3.Pressthecardfirmlyintothecardslot.
Iftheplug-and-playfeatureisnotenabled,dothefollowing:
1.GotoControlPanel.
2.ViewControlPanelbyCategory.ClickHardwareandSound.
3.ClickDeviceManager.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconfirmation,typethe
passwordorprovideconfirmation.
4.FromtheActionmenu,selectAddlegacyhardware.TheAddHardwareWizardstarts.
5.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
Removingamediacard
Attention:
•Stopalltheactivitiesinvolvingthecardbeforeremovingit.Otherwise,dataonthecardmightget
damagedorlost.
•Donotremoveacardwhilethecomputerisinsleeporhibernationmode.Otherwise,thesystemmight
notrespondwhenyoutrytoresumeoperation.
Toremoveamediacard,dothefollowing:
1.ClickthetriangulariconintheWindowsnotificationareatoshowhiddenicons.
2.Right-clicktheSafelyRemoveHardwareandEjectMediaicon.
3.SelectthecorrespondingitemtoejectthecardfromtheWindowsoperatingsystem.
4.Pressthecardtoejectitfromyourcomputer.
5.Removethecardandstoreitsafelyforfutureuse.
Note:IfyoudonotremovethecardfromyourcomputerafteryouejectthecardfromtheWindows
operatingsystem,thecardcannolongerbeaccessed.Toaccessthecard,youmustremoveitfirst,
andtheninsertitagain.
