Solution:
–UseCategory5wiringandensurethatthenetworkcableissecurelyconnected.
–Connecttoa1000BASE-Thub/switch(not1000BASE-X).
•Problem:TheWakeonLANfeatureisnotworking.
Solution:EnsurethatWakeonLANisenabledinThinkPadSetup.Ifitis,checkwithyourLAN
administratorforthenecessarysettings.
•Problem:MycomputerisaGigabitEthernetmodel,butitcannotconnecttothenetworkat1000Mbps.
Instead,itconnectsat100Mbps.
Solution:
–TryanotherEthernetcable.
–Ensurethatthelinkpartnerissettoauto-negotiate.
–Ensurethattheswitchis802.3ab-compliant(gigabitovercopper).
Wireless-LANproblem
Problem:Icannotconnecttothenetworkusingthebuilt-inwirelessnetworkcard.
Solution:
Ensurethat:
•TheAirplanemodeisoff.
•Yourwireless-LANdriveristhelatestversion.
•Yourcomputeriswithintherangeofawirelessaccesspoint.
•Thewirelessradioisenabled.
Bluetoothproblem
Note:CheckyourconnectionanytimeandensurethatnootherBluetooth-enableddeviceissearchingfor
thedevicetowhichyouwanttoconnect.SimultaneoussearchingisnotallowedintheBluetoothconnection.
Problem:SounddoesnotcomefromtheBluetoothheadset/headphonesbutcomesfromthelocalspeaker
eventhoughtheBluetoothheadset/headphonesisconnectedusingaHeadsetprofileorAVprofile.
Solution:Dothefollowing:
1.Exittheprogramthatusesthesounddevice(forexample,WindowsMediaPlayer).
2.GotoControlPanel,andensurethatyouviewControlPanelbyCategory.
3.ClickHardwareandSound➙Sound➙Playback.
4.IfyouareusingaHeadsetprofile,selectBluetoothHands-freeAudioandclicktheSetDefaultbutton.
IfyouareusinganAVprofile,selectStereoAudioandclicktheSetDefaultbutton.
5.ClickOKtoclosetheSoundwindow.
