Thefollowingprocedureisbasedonthescenariothatyouwanttoinstallafull-height,half-lengthPCIecard
ontherisercard.Theprocedureissimilarifyouwanttoinstallalow-profilePCIecardontherisercard.
ToinstallaPCIecardontherisercardassembly,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallexternalmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,
disconnectallpowercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedto
theserver.
2.Prepareyourserver.See“Removingorextendingtheserverfromtherackcabinet”onpage65.
3.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage65.
4.Removetherisercardassemblyandlayitupsidedownonaflat,clean,andstatic-protectivesurface.
