Troubleshootingprocedure
Usethefollowinginformationasageneralprocedurefordiagnosingandtroubleshootingproblemsyou
experiencewithyourserver:
1.Verifythatthepowercordsandthecablesforallattacheddevicesareconnectedcorrectlyandsecurely.
2.Verifythattheserverandallattacheddevicesthatrequireacpowerareconnectedtoproperlygrounded,
functioningelectricaloutlets.
3.VerifythatallinstalledhardwareandattacheddevicesareenabledintheBIOSsettingsofyourserver.

4.ViewthestatusanddiagnosticLEDstoidentifythesystemanddevicestatusanddiagnoseproblems.

5.Iftheserverisnotworkingafteryouhaveaddednewsoftware,installedanewoptionaldevice,or
replacedapieceofhardware,removeorreinstallthesoftware,device,orhardwaretoseeiftheproblem

10.Tryusingapreviousserverconfigurationtoseeifarecentchangetohardwareorsoftwaresettingshas
causedaproblem.Beforerestoringyourpreviousconfiguration,captureyourcurrentconfigurationin
casetheolderconfigurationsettingsdonotsolvetheproblemorhaveadverseeffect.
11.Useanantivirusprogramtoseeifyourserverhasbeeninfectedbyavirus.Iftheprogramdetectsa
virus,removethevirus.
12.Ifnoneoftheseactionssolvetheproblem,seektechnicalassistance.SeeChapter8“Getting
