Thistopicprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstallthefollowingoperatingsystemsandthedrivers:
•MicrosoftWindowsMultipointServer2012StandardEdition
•MicrosoftWindowsMultipointServer2012PremiumEdition
Note:EnsurethatthekeyboardandmouseneedtobeconnectedwithserverbyHUB.
ToinstalltheMicrosoftWindowsMultipointServer2012operatingsystem,dothefollowing:
1.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetasthefirststartup
device,andstarttheserverfromtheopticaldrive.
2.WhenthemessagePressanykeytobootfromcdisdisplayed,pressanykey.IfthemessageWindows
Setup[EMSEnabled]isdisplayed,pressEnter.ThemessageLoadingles...willbedisplayed.Wait
severalminutesforthesystemtoloadthefiles.
3.WhentheWindowsServer2012windowisdisplayed,configurethelanguageandotheroptionsyou
need,andthenclickNext.
4.ClickInstallnow.
5.TypeyourproductkeyandthenclickNext.TheproductkeyinformationisavailableontheMicrosoft
CertificateofAuthenticitylabelorproductpackaging.
6.ReadthelicensetermsandclickIacceptthelicenseterms.ThenclickNext.
7.Selectthetypeofinstallationyouneed.ThefollowingstepsarebasedonthescenariothatCustom:
InstallWindowsonly(Advanced)isselectedinthisstep.
8.Inthe“WheredoyouwanttoinstallWindows?”window,dependingontheSATAconfigurationon
yourserver,dooneofthefollowing:
•IfyourSATAconfigurationissetasRAID(bothOBSATARAIDandADDonRAID):dothefollowing:
a.ConnecttheUSBstoragedevicethatcontainsthedrivertoyourserverandclickLoadDriver.
b.ClickBrowsetolocatetherequireddriverandthenclickOK.
c.Inthe“Selectthedrivertobeinstalled”window,selectHidedriversthatarenotcompatible
withhardwareonthiscomputer.Selectthedriverthatyouwanttoinstall,andthenclickNext
toinstallthedriver.
•IfyourSATAconfigurationissetasAHCI:gotostep9.
9.Inthe“WheredoyouwanttoinstallWindows?”window,clickDriveoptions(advanced).Thenclick
New.
10.Typetheamountofspace(inMB),andthenclickApply.
11.IntheWindowsSetupwindow,clickOK.
12.Ensurethatthedrivepartitioniscorrect,andthenclickNext.Theinstallationbegins.
Notes:
•Y ourserverwillrestartseveraltimesduringtheinstallation.
13.WhentheSettingswindowisdisplayed,clickNext.
14.IntheWindowsUpdatewindow,clickNext.Then,setanadministratorpasswordandclickFinish.
Note:Thepasswordmustbeacombinationofuppercaseletters,lowercaseletters,andnumbers.
15.WhenthemessageMultiPointServerCongurationErrorisdisplayed,pressanykey.Followthe
instructionsonthescreentosigninwhenprompted.
