INTEGRATED
BRAKE
CHOPPER
In
the
generator
mode, e.g.
when
braking the drive, the machine feeds back
energy
into
the
DC
bus
of
the
controller.
If
the
DC
bus
voltage
exceeds
the
maximum
permissible
value,
the controller
sets
trip.
(see
8.1).
Overvoltage
in
the
DC
bus
is
generated,
if
large
inertias
are
brake
and/or
short
deceleration times
are
set.
To
avoid overvoltage during
braking,
a
brake
chopper
is
used. The
brake
chopper consists
of
a
brake
transistor,
which
already
integrated
into
the
standard
device
and
a
brake
resistor,
which
is
connected
to
the
terminals
±UG/RB1
and
RB2
as
option.
