4.2.9 Motor temperature monitoring
Selection of the sensor
type
Thermal sensor KTY
Linear” thermal sensor in the motor winding (standard for Lenze motors MDXKX and MDXQX)
PTC thermistor
PTC thermistor with defined tripping temperature (acc. to DIN 44081 and DIN 44082)
Thermostat TKO
Thermostat/normally-closed contact
Other monitoring KTY, PTC and TKO do not offer complete protection. To improve the monitoring, Lenze recommends the use of a bimetallic relay.
Alternative monitoring Comparators (L_CMP1 ... L_CMP3) monitor and a time element (L_TRANS1 ... L_TRANS4) limits the motor current for small speeds
or motor standstill.
This function can be implemented by the corresponding interconnection of function blocks.
Reactions Different, depending on the temperature monitoring.
Stop!
Do not connect an external voltage to inputs.
