Charge battery
NOTE
The following instructions should be observed
to ensure the safe operation and maintenance
of batteries.
DANGER
The battery contains diluted sulphuric acid, which
is toxic and corrosive.
When working with battery acid personal protective
equipment (protective apron, protective gloves)
should therefore be worn as well as eye protection.
If the clothing, skin or eyes have nevertheless come
into contact with battery acid , the affected areas
should be rinsed with water immediately.
In the event of contact with the eyes, please consult
a doctor at once! Any spilt battery acid should be
neutralised straight away!
DANGER
Battery charging releases gases, and there may
be a risk of poisoning. If batteries are not handled
properly, there is also a risk of short-circuiting or
explosion.
Keep away from sparks or naked flame.
Rooms in which batteries are charged or stored
must have adequate ventilation .
Do not place metal parts on the battery terminals.
Ensure battery terminals are connected correctly.
NOTE
Charging, maintenance and servicing of the
battery must only ever be carried out accord-
ing to the battery maintenance instructions of
the battery manufacturer . Should the battery
maintenance instructions be missing, please
request from the dealer . The operating man-
ual for any charger supplied must also be
observed. If a charger is already available,
only the manual belonging to the charger is
applicable.
CAUTION
The storage of discharged batteries over lengthy
periods will result in lasting damage.
Discharged batteries should be recharged at once.
NOTE
Batteries can be discharged to an acid density
of 1.13kg/l . Battery life may be reduced
accordingly if discharged totally.
NOTE
It is recommended recharging the battery
when all green LEDs of the discharge indica-
tor (2) are extinguished on the indicator unit
(1) and the red LED (3) lights up (battery dis-
charged 80%) or is flashing (battery capacity
<20%).
