Defining the axle area
12.1 For all 5th wheels and all toy haulers with crush tube: area within the start of the crush tube to the
rear of the crush tube, not to exceed 12" on either side of the hanger. XM must be inside this area to count
as a XM in the axle area.
12.2 For all 5th wheels and all toy haulers: area starting 6" in front of the front hanger to 6" behind the rear
hanger. XM must be inside this area to count as a XM in the axle area.
12.3 For all conventional TT with or without a crush tube: area starting 12" in front of middle hanger to
rear of rear hanger.
