Upgrading the System
NOTE:
If a new processor module is installed as part of the upgrade
procedure, the system software is already installed. The R6.1
Forced Installation memory card is only required if upgrading a
system and the processor module is not replaced.
Inter-Release Compatibility
It is important to understand compatibility between files created on each
of the different versions of SPM, not only for upgrading but also for
programming.
Table 6 summarizes programming compatibility. (It is assumed that the
majority of the programming is done in surrogate mode and backed up
on disk).
