5. Wrap the six tele 3 extend cables (150) around the
sheave assembly (139) and bring all cable ends back to
the base of the cylinder; ensure the cable ends with
threads are hanging underneath the telescope cylinder.
Duct tape the tele 3 extend cables to the top of the
cylinder (see Figure 4-27 and Figure 4-28).
6. Install the sled weldment (142) (see Figure 4-29) onto
the telescope cylinder sheave mounting weldment (136)
using the six capscrews (20) and flat washers (143).
NOTE: For ease of assembly, mount the sled (142) to the
telescope cylinder sheave mounting weldment
(136) by first installing only the two upper capscrew
(20). Rotate the notched shaft (141) aligning it with
the sled while installing the remaining capscrews.
7. Mount the bumper pads (147) to the sides of the sled
weldment (142) with the four capscrews (19) and flat
washers (143); ensure the taper side of each pad faces
outward (see Figure 4-29).
8. Mount the lower sled pad (145) to the sled weldment
(142) using the capscrews (44, 146) (see Figure 4-29).
9. Mount the upper sled pad (144) to the telescope cylinder
sheave mounting weldment (136) using the four
capscrews (19), lock washers (17), and flat washers
(16).
10. Install the two grease fittings (106) into each end of the
hollow shaft (141); add grease until the grease extrudes
through the sheaves.
11. Position tele 4 (5) up side down and in front of the
telescope cylinder (6); set tele 4 (5) on adequate
supports.
12. Install the two tele 4 retract cables (131) through the
inside of tele 4 (5) and attach to the boom nose with the
four nuts (133) and two washers (132) (see
Figure 4-30).
Using tie wraps or belt straps, temporarily secure the
cables (131) to the cylinder.
