What to do if my Marathon Switch won't re-transfer to the utility source after power is restored?
    • R
      Robert KelleyAug 1, 2025
If the Marathon Switch does not re-transfer to the utility source upon restoration, it might be due to a few reasons. First, check if the TSC 9 Isolation plug is disconnected and reconnect it. Second, the utility voltage might be below 80% of the rated voltage, so check the utility source for adequate voltage. Finally, the transfer switch will automatically bypass an in-phase transfer after 5 minutes, so determine the cause of the alarm and rectify it before the TSC 9 is reset.

Why does my Marathon TS 910 Switch transfer to the generator source when there is no power failure?
    • L
      lisa85Aug 6, 2025
If your Marathon Switch transfers to the generator source without a power failure on the utility source, it could be because the utility supply voltage is less than 70% on one or both phases of the nominal voltage. In this case, verify that the TSC 9 has the correct voltage configuration jumper setting for your system voltage.

What to do if my Marathon Switch won't transfer to generator after utility power failure?
    • J
      Jaime TurnerAug 12, 2025
If the Marathon Switch won't transfer to the generator source upon failure of the utility source, there are a few potential causes. First, the generator set may not be producing enough voltage/frequency, or the output circuit breaker might be open, so check the generator set output. Second, the warm-up time delay function may not have timed out yet, so verify the TSC 9 timer setting. Finally, if utility voltage is present, the in-phase transfer control may not have detected an ‘in-phase condition to permit transfer, so determine the cause of alarm and rectify before TSC 9 is reset.

Why doesn't my Marathon Switch generator start or stop correctly?
    • T
      Tom BurnsAug 18, 2025
If the generator on your Marathon Switch does not start up or stop when it should, there are a few things you can check. First, verify that the remote engine control panel is set for automatic mode. Next, verify that the engine start wiring is on the correct terminals of the TSC 9 controller. Finally, verify the time delay setting of the TSC 9 controller.

How to troubleshoot a Marathon Switch generator exerciser that isn't working right?
    • N
      Nicole HowardAug 26, 2025
If the Generator Exerciser on your Marathon Switch is not operating correctly, it could be due to a couple of reasons. First, the exercise test may have been incorrectly cancelled before the Genset operated on load for a minimum of 60 seconds. Refer to manual section 18.9.2. Also, an Exercise Alarm condition may have been activated. To resolve this, press and hold the 'E' and 'T' pushbuttons together for 10 seconds until the alarm LED goes out.
