heat. There may be a strong smell the first time the logs are fired but this will soon
disappear.
•Aftertenminutes,setthecontroltogivethedesiredheatoutput.
•Holdasmokingtaperattheexitofthedraughtdiverter(behindtheheater)toverifythat
theflueisdrawingcorrectlyandthatfluegasesarenotspillingintotheroom.
•Turnonthefanandcheckitsoperationatallthreespeeds.
SantaFemodels:-
•Releasethepressureontheredigniterbuttonbutkeepholdingthecontrolknobdownfor
15 secondsafter ignition. Release the pressureonthe control knob – the pilot should
remainalightwhentheknobrises.OnSantaFemodelsthecontrolknobisathermostat
control.
• Turn the control to the desired room temperature setting (1 to 6). If the room is not
alreadywarmerthanthissetting,thefirewilllight.
•Checkthatthefiregraduallyclosesdownandthenshutsoffastheroomwarmsuptothe
settemperature.Confirmthatthefirere-lightsifthetemperaturesetpointisraisedabove
theroomtemperature.
•Turnonthefanandcheckitsoperationatallthreespeeds.

Afterthefirehasbeenalightforfiveminuteson‘HIGH’,holdasmokingtaperormatchat
theexitofthedraughthood(behindtheheater)toverifythattheflueisdrawingcorrectly
andthatfluegasesarenotspillingintotheroom.

•Ifthefanisrunning,turnitoffeitherattherotaryswitchorthewallsocket.
•ToextinguishthepilotlightontheBostonandOdessamodels,pressdownonthecontrol
andturnitfullyclockwisetothe‘OFF’position.ToextinguishthepilotlightonSantaFe
models,turnthecontrolknobfullyclockwisefirmlypastthe‘click’.
•Repeattheabovelightingproceduretoconfirmrapidpilotignitionandsatisfactoryburner
control.
